What is the best thing about Barcelona?
Barcelona has wild green parrots in various places that have trees. I’ve seen them at the Parc Guell and in the square outside the Sagrada Familia. These are both places for spectacular Gaudi architecture – maybe the parrots like it too. Do you know what a parrot squawk sounds like? It is a bit like a crow’s caw, but qualitively different. Listen for the squawk and look up amongst the trees. If you are persistent, you will see the flashes of green zooming about. If you are assiduous, and lucky, you might see a parrot or two perching in the trees at Sagrada Familia (however, there are lots of pigeons there to confuse and distract). At the Parc Guell, the trees are further from the buildings area, so you have better chances of seeing the parrots, but less likelihood of seeing them close up.
