What is the best technique for taking a temperature?
In order to perform the proper temperature technique, gently pull back the earlobe before inserting the thermometer for best results. Tugging on the earlobe provides a direct line to the ear drum to maximize the accuracy of results. Insert thermometer into the ear, press the “On” button. Gently rock the thermometer back and forth so that the probe tip scans the ear drum. Listen for the ready beep and then press the “On” button again for measurement. Four beeps indicate measurement is complete which takes 1 second. A poor technique can cause low readings.
