What is the best steam washer and dryer ?
In the April 2009 Good Housekeeping issue, we tested six front-load steam washers and ten steam dryers. In our tests, the LG SteamWasher and SteamDryer was our winning pair. The washer had the moist consistend cleaning performance for medium and large loads. It was also the gentlest washer on our test load. The purpose of the steam in the washer is to help boost the temperature during the wash cycle, which will promote better stain removal. Certain stains, like oil stains, can be removed easier when the water temperture is higher. The LG SteamDryer had superior performance. It dried out medium load in under 45 minutes and a large load in a litttle over an hour. The purpose of steam in the dryer is to refresh and remove wrinkles from a few items to an entire load left in the dryer.
