What is the best SSRI for anxiety?

Tricky. Not everyone responds the same to every med. Have you actually talked to a counselor about the anxiety, or are you just trying medication? Sometimes that can be the issue, too, relying on only one part of the healing process. Drugs alone won’t do it. Depending on the drug, you should definitely see a difference within 6 weeks. If you don’t, that’s the time to explore other options. Four months is entirely too long. If you’re not seeing a counselor, I’d strongly suggest you start. If you are, then try and figure out if they’re helping. It’s been my experience that psychiatrists are only in the prescription biz, and the real help comes from a psychologist or other qualified therapist.
