What is the best speakers for fronts?
Components are best for your front stage. Seperating the tweeter from the midrange allows you to broaden the area the music comes from and gives you more of a theater sound. Round speakers will give a truer response than an oval shaped speaker such as a 6×9 or 5×7. The cones flex on the oval shaped speakers causing irregular movement and not a perfectly linear motion, which mudds up the sound a little bit. The larger the cone area on the speaker, the more midbass it can produce, Don’t go crazy with the size, but don’t put a 4″ speaker where a 6″ will fit. If you want to spend over $1000 on your front speakers, you can go with a 3 way component set such as the focal polyglass series. These produce an amazingly clear sound even at higher volumes (with the proper clean amplification). There are many brands to choose from, but as long as you stay with those that have been around for a long time, you shouldn’t be dissapointed.
