It partially depends on how fast you’re going–going full steam in a shorter race, you’ll likely end up more on your toes. For “normal” speeds, developing a midfoot/ forefoot landing is often advised. More can come into play with how your hips/core are involved too. The Chi Running book that’s out there is actually quite helpful and a good value if you can “see through” the Eastern perspective that’s provided here and there and focus on Western interpretations, especially in terms of actual physical movements.
