First, clean the windshield with a mixture of water and Vinegar – 10 water to 1 vinegar ratio – that will wash off any film on the windshield that currently exists (obviously, if there is any dirt, etc – you might need to do the soap and water thing first). Now that you have film off (and I suggest the inside of the window as well with the water/Vinegar mix), you can decide: personally, I’d wait to the next rain and see what you think – most everyone has no problems at that point – then just wash it with water and vinegar every once in awhile to get the pollution off.
