What is the best pizza in Los Angeles?

This is my #1 spot to go for the best pizza you'll find in LA that's comparable to taste from the NY-NY-Philly sector. It's not as cheap as Domino's or Papa John's but for quality like this the others can't compare.

Pizza here is sold the way it's meant to be sold, by-the-slice. Their tomato sauce and crust is what makes these pizzas unbeatable. The sauce is sweet and intensely flavored with just a hint of smokiness from the fire. The crust is not too greasy, and just the right texture to provide the right balance of chewiness and crunchiness. Try their pepperoni – they're famous for it.

The staff is extremely friendly and down-to-earth. It's a cozy little pizza joint where they definitely take care of the customer.

Go all day Monday/Tuesday or during lunch for a special where you buy 2 slices of pizza and get the 3rd free!

This is really a very expensive pizza place.  An individual pizza enough for one person is around $20-25 bucks if I remember (I much prefer the $1-4 slice of cheese).  But if you don’t mind that that this has more of the feel of an expensive restaurant, a lot of the pizzas are really yummy.  The type of pizzas i’ve tried have all been on the flat style pizza crust/ bread.  crunchy and chewy to perfection!

I’ve had good luck with Hard Times Pizza‎ (2664 Griffith Park Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA‎ – (323) 661-5656‎), but believe it or not, I just call on Pizza Slut… I mean Hut these days.  They’ve improved their sauce and toppings to a degree and the price is right.  But you have to get the cheese lover’s and understand that they’ll skimp on toppings, so order extras (it’s still cheaper than any "good" pizzeria).  I’ve heard good things about both places listed above.
