What is the best piece of cardio equipment to choose at the gym?
Patrick – The goal of cardio is to raise your heart rate so you burn optimal calories. In my experience the treadmill is the best piece of cardio equipment to get your heart rate where it needs to be, plus you can add a lot of variety to a treadmill program (running, walking or running on an incline, intervals). If there is no treadmill, choose a piece of equipment where you are forced to stand. Sit-down machines should only be used if you have an injury that prevents you from standing up!
