What is the best over-the-counter teeth whitening toothpastes, strips, etc?
Answer Dear David: I have found that the best OTC whitening products are Aquafresh whitening toothpaste and Crest WhiteStrips. When Zoom was first introduced, its fee was $1,000.00. Your dentist’s fee is reasonable. I don’t use Zoom, because I find that the process is more likely to cause tooth and gum sensitivity, and having your mouth propped open for several hours is no fun. I mostly use custom trays made from impressions of the patient’s moutn, and professional grade bleach gels used in them, are more effective for a longer period of time than Zoom, although they take a while longer (one hour per night for 8 nights) to work. Our fee for this process is about $350. And we do a lot of them, with a lot of positive results. Good luck.
