The best strata pattern is one that covers the most area. If only a few borings are provided and they do NOT cover the entire site, the program will extrapolate strata information out to the perimeter based on the known depths. If you enter a point-to-point pattern, Sitework assumes a straight line between those points. The Profile View displays the strata in straight shelves of layers. If you enter several points between borings, Sitework interpolates the depths of those points based on the two entered depths. This gives the Profile View a more natural shape to the strata. Always enter strata from the shallowest layer down to the deepest layer, and remember that strata cannot go above the original ground layer.
