What is the best method (color space, sci vs. sce, degree observer, Illuminant,etc.) for calculating Light Reflectance Value (LRV) on a spectrophotometer?

I can’t find a specific definition of light reflectance value (LRV). Based on what I can gather, it is an overall measure of the average reflectance of a sample in the visible wavelengths. Most likely it is computed from the Y tristimulus value (0 for perfect black and 100 for perfect white).
