What is the best medication to use for marine velvet in saltwater tanks with live rock?

Thanks for any help. Also would like to know what people prefer for the best medication for all marine life with a tank with live rock. A: The only real effective way to treat marine velvet is with copper. However, copper is extremely toxic to inverts so you would need a quarantine tank to treat your fish. Quarantine tanks are very useful for many things so it would be wise to set one up if you haven’t already. You can buy a 10 gal complete kit at walmart for $30 or less. So you could look at the cost of quarantine plus medication and see if it’s cheaper to get different fish. Before adding anything new, wait 2-3 weeks so the velvet has enough time to die off. It won’t continue to grow without a fish as a host. Stressed fish will develop disease much easier. Make sure your water parameters are all good. Have they been eating well? or swimming erratically? Look for signs of stress and anything that would cause it. Treating the velvet is one thing, but you need to eliminate stress or it
