What is the best media to store all of my home photos on?

They are the best for many reasons. First they are inexpensive and second you can make two at a time and put one at some other location, so if disaster strikes, you have not lost all your images. In addition you need to know that there are only two kinds of hard drives … ones that have failed and ones that are about to fail. I keep all the images I am working on, filed on my hard drive for easy access, but anything over six months old is backed up on a CD or DVD and one is in my fireproof safe and the other copy is in a safe deposit box … I work as a photographer for my living, so I may be a little more organized than some others. I also have a copy of my images (by collection) at the Copyright Office in Washington DC. Most are DVD’s since it can get expensive registering images one CD at at time.
