What is the best material for building a subwoofer box?

Many materials are OK for use in a sub box, but choose things that are solid and void free. Particle board is an excellent material, plywood is not. Plywood is not as dense as Particle board so stick with that. Plexi or other high density plastic work, but are often expensive. Fiberglass is OK for custom enclosures but you must be careful to make sure they are properly made so they don’t ‘vibrate’. Drywall screws and white glue work well in particle board. Also make sure you find out the appropriate size of the box for your speaker(s). Size does matter as well as if open/closed/ported. Last thing is to fill with some form of damping material inside the box. Home fiberglass fill is OK but a pain to work with, check for polyester fiber which is easier to handle.
