What is the best Macintosh computer to start with?
If you are simply looking for a reliable computer that boots up with little or no hesitation, a virus free environment, and an unrivaled use of its resources (memory, etc…), then you are absolutely correct in going to the Mac side of the fence. I’ve used PCs up until last year, then finally got fed up with the viruses and constant battle to free up memory and hard drive space. I also play around a lot with video and music – if you’re not aware, MACs have held the rankings in these fields for a very long time… great programs for both which are unrivaled by PCs!!! If you’re looking for portability, then go with the MacBook – the base system is powerful enough to support all your general computing needs and then some. And, you can always add an external monitor if you need to. I use this to record and mix my band’s music, which I unsuccessfully tried to do with a PC… no problems here!
