What is the Best Intervention for Vocal Tics?
Question: I am a special education teacher. I have a young student on my caseload that has TS. She is very bright and is on the Advanced Diploma track. We are serving her in the general education classroom, but we are having problems. She has primarily Vocal tics. Her tics are very disruptive to the rest of the class as well as disruptive to the teacher which in turn affects the class as well as the student with TS. We know there is a fine line between looking out for a student with TS and the rest of the students. We want whats best for all of our student. We also want this student to be here with us in the general education classroom. We have researched different ways we can accommodate her and always end up at a road block when it comes to VOCAL tics.
