What is the best Hamburger in Los Angeles, California?
Since 67 for me; the little shack on the corner hummed like a top…yes people around the block. They had to add one in the back part but everyone preferred to wait in line and visit under the stars. The huge piece of tomato (where did they find such huge ones?); the secret sloppy joe ingredient, the size of the burger and the price (you could also have a tamale as a change of pace). The speed was what fascinated me, second only to the taste. The”showcase” guy (there were two) was a blur as he reached up and then down, made a few more movements and there you were-the line moved. He had pride and never-got- tired energy. You felt energized. What a thing of beauty! God bless you buddy because I can’t remember your name but I do remember you also had time for a few pleasantries? Thanks. I never have found such a place in my travels, anywhere. Funny, but the only place that gave it a run for its money was The Original Pantry, if its still around; and it was just a few miles away downtown.
While you may be tempted to drive by the hut, you won’t be displeased if you park!AMAZING hamburgers, and even better teriyaki bowls. Though it sounds like an odd combination, they are both amazing! Definately better for pickup since the only seating are picnic benches, but don’t overlook it because the quality of the food is too good!Pros + Hamburgers, Fries, Beef/Rib Bowl, Very Nice OwnersCons – Lack of Seating
I’ve been coming to petes for more than 10 years, and I really wish people would try out this place, even the USC kids come over for their affordable and loaded 3 dollar breakfasts, the first time you go, won’t be your last, i recommend the chicken breast dinner, something two of my friends have tried and now its the only thing they orderPros + great food, great ambienceCons – the parking is kind of a pain
I love Patra Cheeseburgers and Fries!!! They’re delicious and are a nice hearty portion. The fries are thick and they’re pretty generous in the amount they slop into those little paper bags. That’s pretty much all I’ve had there and on occassion a very inexpensively priced breakfast plate, and it’s all been sooooo good. The prices are also pretty cheap in comparison to nearby places who don’t even compare in taste. The one thing that does drive me crazy about this place is that the tables need to be wiped down and cleaned! PLEASE WIPE DOWN THE PLACE. It’s gross. So order your food and go. P.S $5 dollars can get you the cheeseburger combo.Pros + Hamburgers Rock!
