What is the best Hamburger in Los Angeles, California?
I love this place….with it’s rustic American decor, fireplaces, iron work, art etc. Not only is the atmosphere pleasant and romantic but the food is grrrrrrreat. My husband and I started off with the seared Ahi tuna with smoked mozarella cheese it was delicious and the serving was perfect for two. I ordered the Angel Hair pasta with lobster and my husband had the “Village Favorite” the pork chop. The pork chop with the cranberry garnish was excellent, too bad my pasta was not. Granville should stick to all American cuisines because my pasta was great but the lobster was tasteless and rubbery. The lobster was cut into small little pieces, which looked and tasted more like little rubbery shrimp pieces and I don’t why they added pickled artichoke hearts, it just made it worse. The grilled pork chop was gigantic and the heavenly sweet potato fries made me forget about my bad meal. It was worth it!!! P.S. have them serve the sweet potato fries that comes with the huge pork chop
There probably aren’t too many Southern Californians who haven’t had the pleasure of eating a double-double from In-n-Out. They are probably the last remaining fast-food chains in which you can expect the same taste and quality. Sure, they don’t have a big wall-sized menu selection like McDs and there aren’t any other alternatives (e.g. chicken burgers), but they concentrate on what they do best: hamburgers, fries and shakes. It’s worked for them all these years; don’t see why they should change it now! Freshness is their game; freshly cut Kennebec potatoes for their fries, nice, leafy GREEN lettuce and plump tomatoes. What really strikes me the most about In-n-Out are their workers and their attention. i don’t like cheese and i am quite picky with my food (even to burgers!) and i have had more than my share of disappointments at your other fast food burger joints. But i never (to this day) have had my order screwed up at In-n-Out. Here’s how my order looks every time i go: a d
By closet, I mean it literally. Across the street from Albertson’s on Hillhurst, Yuca’s square footage of parking is ten times larger than the building (if you could even call it that) itself. It’s family owned and has won many awards over the years for their excellent burritos and tacos. Los Feliz and Silverlake locals are known to frequent the place, along with the entertainment executive and celebrity regulars. My favorite order has got to be their carne asada fries. Though they are a bit small, their bangin’ taste has got you licking every last bit of of it. I never let a single minced onion escape my lips. Since there is only 3 people working Yuca’s at one time, (not including the sweet grandma that takes your orders and always spells your name wrong), the wait can be a bit long, but it’s always worth it. The people that eat there are always friendly, which makes the ambiance quite un-Los Angeles-like.
Don’t go to an Islands to expect culinary masterpieces. Its a hyped up burger joint…but with really good burgers. They have regular beef burgers or chicken. Great toppings on each. They also have an assortment of pretty good appetizers. I would say the best part of Islands are their burgers and bartenders. Or at least at this location. If you’re just killing time waiting for a booth, step up to the bar and order a drink. Any mixed drink will come out well. If your not sure, just ask to see what their favorite is, perhaps they’ll open your eyes to a new concoction you hadn’t thought about. Atmosphere is fun and light. Usually very packed, but its worth the wait. Park off Broadway, in the structure. Islands will validate your parking for you.Pros + Great Burgers & Fries, Great Bartenders, Parking ValidationCons – Long wait @ times
