What is the best GMAT preparation course for the money?

When I was getting ready to look at business schools, I did some research on a few of the national companies and found very mixed reviews. I had heard good things about Powerscore, and on the recommendation of a friend I went with their weekend course. It costs $395 and the materials are great. The instructor was friendly and had a complete mastery of the test. One nice thing about the GMAT is that, if the test makers are to be fair, the concepts they test become very predictable. Once you’ve developed a comfort with the foundational ideas, and completed some practice with a workable approach, the test becomes far less daunting. When it was my time to take the GMAT, I was very confident, because I felt that I already knew basically what was going to be on the test. The approaches I had learned with Powerscore were extremely effective, but even I was a bit surprised to learn that I’d scored a 770! It’s definitely worth the effort–learn the concepts and approaches that work on this test
