Hello, (ANS) If you want the best software firewall then I can highly recommend ZoneAlarms (basic freeware version) why? the ZoneAlarm products all use a technique called “statefull packet inspection” (SPI) this is a VERY tough & highly robust method of protecting systems from intrusion. **SPI is a well tried & tested firewalling method & is used in millions of routers, WiFi routers, hardware firewalls & commercial products. (Avoid products that only offer packet filtering as they are NOT as secure or robust). I have been using Zone Alarms free basic firewall for many many years and its extremely reliable and highly trustworth, set it & forget it. **The paid versions are equally good but have more bells & whistles than I wanted or are nesseccary. 10 out of 10 (possibly the best peice of freeware I have on my system). http://www.zonelabs.com Best Regards IR (10years+ in the computer industry & MCSE trained).
