What is the best free firewall protection for my pc?
I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following linkhttp://www.computeractive.co.uk/. On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.
Firewall =Zone alarm free Anti virus =Avast free Used both for years no problem Comodo Firewall Pro 3.0.15.277 Beware this firewall still has a known bug that looses the firewall configuration data when e-sata drives are added or removed. If you’re lucky (as I was the first couple of times), the program will produce an error message and ask if you want Comodo to repair itself. But sometimes, Comodo will actually corrupt the partition table of the removable drive (as it did to me) and you will loose your data on the remoable drive.
Comodo Firewall Pro a very highly rated freeware will secure your system against internal attacks such as Trojan viruses, malicious software, and external attacks by hackers. With a user-friendly single click interface you can allow or block access to the Internet offering complete immunity to attacks and total protection of your personal information. Real time traffic monitoring enables you to react instantly to threats and identify bandwidth bottlenecks.
