What is the best font type to use?

Ideally, use Times, Times Roman, or Times New Roman (essentially they are identical). This font is used in nearly all school text-books, and also used by the majority of newspapers. Therefore it is the easiest font to read because of our familiarity with it. Many resumes are written in the Arial, or Helvetica fonts, but they are less attractive, and not quite as familiar to our eye. It is recommended that you use a version of Times, but above all avoid cursive fonts (these are fonts that look like hand writing versus printing), or specialty fonts. Keep to standard ones, and avoid “cute” fonts, as your job-search is not about cute.
