What is the best flow rate for my TurboTwist sterilizer?
There are three sizes of TurboTwist sterilizers, 9watt, 18watt, and 36watt. Initially there is a flow rate recommendation at the beginning of the instructions that suggest 100 – 200 gph (for the 9watt), 200 – 400 gph (for the 18watt), and 400 – 1200 gph (for the 36watt). These are recommended flow rates for the pumps used to run the sterilizer. The graph at the end of the instructions shows the flow rates necessary to destroy bacteria, algae, and parasites. These flow rates are for the rate that the water passes thru the sterilizer. The graph and the pumps flow rates are different because when water goes thru the sterilizer it is slowed down. The slowest flow rate listed in the graph will be the most effective.
