You need both a storage medium for the backups as well as a software utility to perform the scheduled backups. Here are my suggestions: ~ Hardware ~ Depending on how much data you have and the portability factor, I would go with one of two options. If you’re backups require 4GB of data or less, you can go with a flash/jump drive for the backup medium. They do make flash drives larger than 4GB, but considering the price, if compact size is not a factor I would cap it at 4GB. For the price of an 8GB or larger drive, you might as well buy an external HDD (Hard Disk Drive), or an internal HDD with a USB enclosure. While still portable, external HDD’s can store much more data, and are a far more cost effective solution to the problem. You can buy a 500GB external drive for around $100-130 these days.
