What is the best chemical to get rid of the ring at the bottom of my toilet?
Pour in two cups of Spirit of Salts, close the toilet and let sit for two hours, then flush. Make sure you ventilate VERY WELL; it will take your breath away, literally! Your hardware store will sell Spirit of Salts. THE TRICK is to not allow the stains to return — and you do that by swishing the bowl every day or two. You do not need to use cleaner, just leave the bowl brush right next to the toilet and every day or two give it a swish (in clean water of course) and flush.
