What is the best cage for a gerbil?
I don’t know if I agree that you need an aquarium for him, but it depends how much attention you give the little bugger! The problem with aquarium tanks is that the air circulation is bad and the gerbil will sometimes try to dig through the cage. Plus rodents tend not to like them as much I have a hamster and i sometimes regret getting him a wired cage because rodents gnaw on the wires at night when they are teething or when they just want out! However you can control this with teething toys or just letting him roam the house for a while 🙂 (you’ll see its a lot like being a mother, waking up to see the baby wants out of the crib or is uncomfortable in the crib or maybe you’ll be lucky and have a gerbil that is pleased with what he gets…but even so, you’ll LOVE being a mommy!) My advice is that if you are prepared to pay attention to this animal every day and simply let him out for twenty minutes to run around the house (watching him/her carefully of course!)
