What is the best Brunch in Los Angeles,California?
I tried this restaurant last night and was very satisfied. The ambiance is very low key and comfortable and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is varied but not overwhelming and the prices are reasonable. I got the Organic Vegetable Plate and, aside from the saltiness, really enjoyed it. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday, so it seems like a pretty popular place. I will definitely go back.
Went to dinner on a Thursday night, I called ahead and was told not to worry about reservations (about 7:30pm). We were greeted immediately and warmly, and seated immediately. There is a nice bar that you could sit at if you had to wait. The waitstaff was attentive and quite pleasant, but the food was a little on the slow side arriving to our table. I think it was more the kitchen vice the waitstaff though. We had the proscuitto wrapped goat cheese as an app, and it was quite tasty. The gnocchi was not that good. The sauce was tasty, but the gnocchi I thought was too flour-y and not enough potato-y. The osso bucco was tasty, although I think the polenta should fritters should be larger or just serve it over a polenta mountain. Desert was a creme brulee type thing that was really good. Appetizer, 2 entrees, bottle of red, dessert, cappuccino and esspresso ran $105. Overall, the experience was great because of the ease of getting in, lack of any attitude in the staff, on the w
I’ve been here a few times and I’ve got to say it is the best restaurant in town. I’ve consistently had wonderful service and excellent food. It’s delicious good ol’ down to earth American food and I love it. I love the chargrilled chicken and the brussel sprouts it comes with (I know, right). It’s not in the heart of a big social scene or anything, but the quality of dining here far outweighs any restaurant that is. The mac n cheese is also very good, you can tell they use real cheddar and not packets of fake low quality cheese. Mmm my mouth is watering now, I’m in need of a Luna Park fix.
So, I ended up at Dakota by accident. No really. It was only after I agreed to dinner at “The Roosevelt” did it dawn on me. But let me tell you, had I been offered the chance to think about it, I probably would have declined, and that would have been a mistake. Very rich atmostphere, deep chocolate tones, low light, very romantic. Unfortunately, I do not feel like our server matched the quality of the establishment. She was a little snobby, and it sort of set the tone for the rest of the meal. I’ve never worked as a server, so I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes (I have an idea) but, after initially discussing the “a la carte” style of the sides, and suggesting that we share (there were three of us), she didn’t even let us finish ordering before she mentioned the sides again. I found that to be a little pushy, and condecending – we heard the first time thankyouverymuch. And it’s not like I’ve never been to a steak house before, and nice ones at that: Ruth’s Chris – c
My wife and I have been going to Tasca since it first opened. We’ve watched it develop from a secret little place, to the bustling, but intimate, place it is now. We used to laugh conspiratorially with the early customers (who always seemed to be regulars) about how we can’t let the secret out about the fantastic food, service and setting, or we won’t be able to just walk in and get a table, but how we couldn’t help sharing this gem with our friends. I think a lot of people felt that way. Now the secret is out, and it’s full most nights of people laughing and enjoying the food, wine and the company. The staff is excellent, and extremely attentive and friendly. While we can’t just saunter in (unless we want to eat at the bar – which we often do) as easily as we once could (reservations are a good idea), we’re always greeted with literally open arms. Every night we go there, we meet others who are met just as warmly and love the place as we do. We’ve introduced lots of friends
