What is the Best breed of rat you can get?
There aren’t really breeds of rats. Most of the different kinds you hear about are just genetic differences but not a different breed. All kinds will have the same temperament and act about the same, but just look different. It’s the same as looking a someone with brown hair and someone with blond. They are not two different “breeds.” If you want a big rat (it’s not going to be house cat size), you’ll have to adopt from a breeder that the parents are both rather large. Side note, you should always, ALWAYS, get more than one rat. Rats are highly sociable creatures and really need a friend to be psychologically healthy. Even if you think you’ll play with him/her all the time, there will be parts of the day where you’re at school/work or asleep. Additionally, if you decide to adopt from a breeder, most make it a requirement that you get two rats if you don’t have one at home already.
