They have a better range of colours. The texture is creamier, requiring less working with water and brushes to spread or to blend. They have better durability and lightfastness, whatever other brands claim. They have a good and logical range of ancillary products. Their documentation is good. Only problem is price – in Europe at least, Liquitex is generally more expensive. Other brands used: Winsor and Newton, Rowney. Of these two Rowney specialises more in acrylics. (W&N is the brand for artist’s water colours.
