What is the best beach in Galveston?
Stewart Beach would be your best bet for kids. Family oriented, and they have amenities you need nearby when you have kids. East Beach allows drinking and can get rowdier at times. Contrary to what the first person said, they no longer have showers and amenities since Ike on East beach. THey have a temporary snack place set up, the last time I was there (about a month ago), they had no showers or restrooms–just portapotties. Someone else mentioned the pocketparks on the west end. Those are a good choice if you have kids too. Ample parking, access to restrooms and snacks. They’ll all be $8 to park at. Good luck and have fun in Galveston.
