My preference is to purchase any of the commercially available LCD screen cleaners you can find at your local Office Supply or Electronics store. These screen cleaning kits come with a solution that is safe to use on LCD monitors and a soft cloth you can use to buff the screen without the risk of scratching the surface. I’ve also seen people use a slightly damp rag to wipe the screen… but I don’t like taking water to any electronic device! I have seen recommendations to use a 50% mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water… but when dealing with something that could be potentially damaging, I don’t like to leave things to chance. I much prefer the pre-made screen cleaners because I know they are the right concentration and are tested safe for the LCD screens. Also… one thing to NEVER do is to use any kind of ammonia-based window cleaner on your LCD monitor (like a Windex or GlassPlus).
