What is the best and healthiest cooking oil canola [also called rapeseed oil]?
Both canola and Olive oil are low in Saturated fat and very high in Monosaturated fat content. So they have the ability to reduce and lower the risk of coronary heart diseases. Both are high in beneficial omega-3 and omega -6 fatty acids. Also according to wikipedia, olive oil has a better balance among these two fatty acids. For health benifits its better to use Extra virgin or virgin olive oil as they have the highest content of monosaturated fat. Even though these are mostly used as a salad dressing i dont hesitate to put them in my fry pan. I quite like it. :-).
