What is the best and easiest way to block spam with SpamAssassin?
After some experimentation, we have decided the most effective way of using SpamAssassin is to reduce the default required hits level from 5.5 down to about 3.0. Keep in mind that when you begin to reduce the required hits level, legitimate emails might be mistaken for spam, so you will also want to set up a whitelist for those contacts that you always want to receive email from. When you have lowered the required hits value and setup a whitelist, then you may be safe to set the spam folder to pemanently delete and say “goodbye” to spam.
