What is the best age for a child to begin to learn to swim?
young as possible I think. I had my 5yr old out this year learning to swim in his swim diaper because i think its the proper thing for a parent to do to help keep the kids safe. My 9yr old was right there alongisde him, looking almost like twins, learning also (they were so cute..). My other boys can all swim, some better than me, but can at least swim and float if they had to, to stay alive and to be able to go fishing and play at a friends house on a small lake. All children should learn. I have several friends that have taught them aroudn age 3ish and it helps.
