What is the best (affordable) French tutor CD?
Although I speak French, I havn’t used a tutor CD for that, though I have used Michel Thomas for Italian. He uses a slightly unusual approach (refusing to use the word grammar), but after a couple of months, I really rate his approach. I should point out that I wasn’t an absolute beginner, but I now realise I wasn’t much more advacned than that. He also produces a couple of French courses, Spanish etc., so I presume his French course is as good. (Note: he is neither Itlian or French: actually Polish, and he actually died a couple of years ago, though his language foundation is very well established). As far as cost goes, I borrowed this from a library and ripped it to a CD (naughty, naughty): I’m not sure anything really cheap is worth getting.
