What is the best ADSL plan for me?
This really depends on how you use the internet. Prices are very volatile at the moment following Telstra’s recent drop in ADSL and Optus’s incoming into the ADSL market. For a light user of the internet I would recommend an entry level plan using a company such as TPG who offer a plan that costs you $19.95 a month as long as you don’t use more than 200Mb of data. When you go over this amount you will be charged a further 15c per MB capped at a total of $59.95 at which point your service becomes unlimited. Telstra’s equivalent plan will cost you $29.95 a month and you will be charged a further 15c per MB with no price cap… so potentially if you used the internet a lot it could cost you thousands of dollars. (Be wary). Other companies such as aaNet, Dataco, westnet and internode also provide price caps on their entry level plans.
