My mom used to work for Sears so I’ve had lots of experience with Kenmore appliances and I just think they’re great. I don’t know what they did to you yesterday, or if there was a particular policy that you didn’t like, but if it was just a crappy salesman, don’t let that put you off. Having said that, Consumer Reports 2007 buying guide currently lists the Hotpoint RGB745 as their top models for freestanding 30″ gas ranges, and the Kenmores are much lower on the list. Some of the reviews I’m seeing online aren’t as favorable, and it also strikes me as a low-featured unit, but it’s one to consider. After that is the Maytag MGS5775BD which seems like a better unit all around to me but still not a convection oven.
