What is the benefit of the Rising Fellows Program?
There are multiple benefits to the Rising Fellows Program including: 1) Rising Fellows will work full time for an academic year in a high performing BES school, where they gain insight into the details of strong no excuses charter schools, which will increase their capacity to later build a vision for their own charter school in the BES Fellowship. 2) Rising Fellows develop leadership, both from the context of their role within the BES school, and also by attending 20 days of training with Building Excellent Schools and working with a member of the senior leadership team at BES as a coach. 3) After the successful completion of the Rising Fellows Program, work within a BES school, and development from training, Rising Fellows have an increased knowledge base and skill set around what it takes to lead a successful urban charter school and enjoy a greater likelihood of success in the BES Fellowship application process.
