What is the benefit of participating as a member of a regional First Nation organization?
A8 – Regional First Nation organizations can offer many benefits to schools that could not be realized otherwise. Significant economies of scale are created through the sharing of knowledge, resources and best practices. This sharing also offers each member a wider range of services at a reduced cost. In turn, schools offer benefits of knowledge, experience and practice that will benefit the organization and other First Nations within the aggregation. Through regional First Nation organizations, tools can be provided to better assist schools in the implementation of the Program components, including, for example, the development and delivery of train-the-trainer sessions and related training manuals. Data and information can be widely shared through a regional organization (i.e. via the Internet, etc.), which can provide aggregated support to First Nation schools in working with the provinces and INAC.
