What is the benefit of obtaining US patent protection?
A US patent allows its owner to exclude others from infringing the patent by selling, offering to sell, using or importing the invention. A person who infringes a patent is termed an infringer. Infringement can be direct, by inducement, or contributory. A patent, however, does not give its owner the right to practice the invention.
