What is the benefit of burning my slideshows to CD over DVD?
CDs offer a large capacity at low cost. You may alreay have a CD burner or can buy a CD burner and CD-R/RW discs at a relatively low cost. Using CD & DVD PictureShow 4, you can burn up to 1900 photos with menu navigation on a single CD. DVDs offer even greater capacity as well as give you a more sophisticated navigation menu. However the cost of DVD burners and discs are still higher than CDs. Ultimately you’ll have to decide which is the right choice for you. Also, when sharing your discs, you should consider player compatibility. Both CDs and DVDs are compatible with most DVD players–those that have been purchased within the past two years or so. When burning to CD, the players must be able to read VCD (Video CD) formatted discs. For DVDs, players must be able to read DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs. Check your DVD player manufacturer for details on your model.
