One of the big drawbacks of DVDR is capacity. All re-writeable DVDRs have a capacity of 4.7GB which translates into about 2 hours of high quality recording. Thus if you feel you’re likely to exceed this regularly then consider a HDD/DVDR combi – especially if you have a TV/screen that enables you to appreciate the high quality mode. However the core benefit of HDD/DVDR combi machines has nothing to do with capacity.
