What is the belt ranking system all about?
The color of belt signifies experience, expertise and mastery of the techniques utilized in that style of martial art. The darker the color of the belt, the closer that person is being an able practioner of his or her martial art. A black belt indicates that person has general knowledge of all of the techniques used in his or her art. The higher the black belt ranking (1st degree, 2nd degree, etc.) the more mastery that person has in performing the techniques of his or her art. Typically 10th Degree Black belt is the highest belt one can achieve.
