AP-Networks developed a turnaround benchmarking survey in 2002 and started the beginnings of what currently is the largest turnaround database of its kind. The data was used to develop the beginning of AP-Networks evaluative tools. However, in early 2004, and with seemingly strong interest from its clients to compare scope data, AP-Networks organized a turnaround benchmarking study consortium to gather scope data, examine and analyze trade-offs between cost, duration, interval, scope, reliability and other metrics. The turnaround benchmarking study consortium included representatives from the following companies: BP; Chevron; ExxonMobil; Flint Hills Resources; and Shell.
