What is the basic role of wind and water currents to weather?
First of all, there is no wind “currents”. They are called jet streams. Anyway, a jet stream is an upper atmosphere wind pattern that affects upper level atmosphere pressure systems (high and low). The pressure systems “ride” along the jet streams to new areas around the world. Water currents affect weather greatly. Warm and cold currents circulate around the ocean and affect evaporation rates in the area.
