What is the basic requirement to learn Visual Basic and Visual Basic.net?
The basics of both are the same. I know VB6 fairly well and helped my sister get through a basic VB.net class a few years ago. I’ve had no problems developing small trivial programs in VB.net where I might have used VB6. I’d suggest that you forget about learning VB. It will soon become completely obsolete, if it isn’t already. Support for VB6 was dropped in 2005. Just like all of Microsoft’s products, even VB.net will become obsolete before long. And then we’ll have to learn something new when VB.net is replaced. You can Google for the VB.net express edition. It will do more than enough to learn the language. Then I’d suggest you buy one of several VB.net books for that version. Finding the software and books for VB6 or earlier may be difficult. VB6 was the last VB version and support ended for it a few years ago. The version following VB6 was the first VB.net version.
