What is the band cirriculum?
The Scott High School Band executes its mission of music education through student participation in the SHS Concert Band, Marching Band and Pep Band. In order to be a member of the Scott High School Band a student must be enrolled in Band Class and must participate in Concert Band, Marching Band, and Pep Band. Any exceptions must be in the form of an independent study and must be approved by the Band Director and the Guidance Counselor. Students may have the option to participate in various chamber ensembles and Jazz Band. All students are encouraged to take Private Lessons and may receive partial reimbursement from the Scott High School Band Boosters. Students will be exposed to a variety of musical styles. Instruction will be based on the Band Directors best judgment as well as the National Standards for Arts Education, the Kentucky Core Content and Program of Studies for the Arts and Humanities and any curriculum expectations set forth by the Kenton County Schools and Scott High Sch
