What is the background of the TRADOC Field Element and the Headquarters Liaison Officers to TRADOC program?
The TRADOC Field Element was established during the STEADFAST Reorganization of 1973 which disestablished CONARC and the Combat Developments Command (CDC) and established Forces Command and TRADOC. The Field Element derived from the CDC Liaison Field Office located at Fort Belvoir, VA., which was redesignated the CONARC/TRADOC Field Element (Provisional) and assigned to CONARC headquarters at Fort Monroe. With the official establishment of TRADOC, the organization was redesignated the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Field Element with stationing at Fort Monroe. At that time there were 24 TRADOC liaison offices under command and operational control of the Field Element commander.
