What is the background of the 2002 bond referendum?
In 2002, the citizens of District 502 approved a $183 million bond referendum for capital improvements, including major renovations to the Berg Instructional Center and Student Resource Center and construction of the Student Services Center, the Health and Science Center, and the Technical Education Center. This money was combined with other funding that the College had saved for a total of $358 million. The College had hoped to secure $25 million in state funding, but it did not become available.
